Roots Sermon Series - Begins Sept 12th

The basics, foundations, bedrock, roots…  These are words that describe sure footing and establishing the right beginnings.  The book of Romans in the New Testament is a great study in strengthening your roots.  It is Paul’s theological treatise and teaching on the depth and purpose of following God.  We, as a church, are beginning a study of it this Sunday, September 12.  I don’t know exactly how long we will be in the book of Romans but I know that our hearts and minds will be...

Just as a reminder, starting Sunday, September 12th I would love for you to join us for a brand new sermon series entitled Roots: Cultivating a Life of Spiritual Growth.  This exciting new series will be based in Romans and we encourage everyone to bring a friend.   Thanks to all in advance for the effort for this community outreach.

Unity is such a BIG word.

Unity is such a big word.  I don’t mean in the spelling of it but rather in its etymological underpinnings.  The meaning.  For a people to be unified is the most difficult task on earth.  Our opinions seem to rule the day.  Unity comes only at the high price of self sacrifice.  Jesus is the perfect picture of unity.  He gave all that we might experience what has been His from eternity.  His sacrifice created unity for eternity in the presence of the Lord....

You are an awesome church!

Well, the Lord is continuing to open the doors for the classroom building to be built on our property. After an overwhelming vote in approval of the building we have begun the painstaking task of the design and permit process with the city. I would ask all of you to be in continual prayer for the finances and timeliness of the entire project. It is our hope that our school will be displaced for as little time as possible. It is a relatively small building so the construction phase should not...

Share the Truth in Love

Well, we have overwhelmingly approved the new classroom building by a 94% positive vote. Most churches don’t vote on such things, and I have many friends in ministry that think we should stop. I couldn’t disagree more. While voting is always a bit painful…I like the full involvement of the body of Christ in these weighty matters. The Pastors and Leadership Team are certainly confirmed in our leadership role when the family of God agrees with the leadership recommendation. While we are not a...

Rally on Sunday, April 11

This Sunday night is a critical meeting for our entire church body. I hope all will be in attendance as we discuss the potential next step in our campus development. The proposal is an 8 classroom single level building that will enable us to continue to grow our ministries on the weekend and throughout the week.   The Lord is showing us favor in our Parkridge Christian Academy and so the need for additional space is immediate. I believe that this additional building space will help...

Marching Orders: Launch Out

In 1991 the Lord gave me a vision for ministry that included starting a church in an area of our nation that was in need of churches.  That vision ultimately led to the birth of Parkridge in 1992.  During the formative years of this ministry the Lord sent faith-filled believers and newly born believers to join us in the journey of faith here.  That early group led our church to launch out in the uncharted waters of land development so that this ministry could have a permanent...

Eternity Awaits Your Action

I want to express my heartfelt thanks to all who worked on the “prayer experience”.  It was a wonderful and challenging walk thru experience.  My heart and mind were recalibrated toward the world (both near and far) and the desperate need of so many millions that do not know Jesus as Lord.  We hold the keys to the Kingdom of God and they are waiting to receive the truth, even if they don’t know they are.  The greatest offensive weapon in our “faith arsenal” is prayer. ...

Wisdom vs. Foolishness

“Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men, but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil.”  Ephesians 5:15-16   Our lives are a testimony to what we believe.  There is no getting around it…whatever is on the inside will ultimately come out in our daily “walk”.  So, how’s it going???  Where do you stand?  Where you stand will ultimately determine how you walk.  Wisdom vs. foolishness.  We are rebellious by nature so...

Life Speeds By

Life speeds by!  The Super Bowl, much hyped and advertised for months, is now over.  Now begins the work to advertise and comment on next year’s NFL season.  The accomplishments of this world are fleeting and temporary.  The prize of following Christ never wanes…it shines for all of eternity.  As we enter the second decade of the 21st century it is more apparent than ever that our world needs an answer to the search for significance and happiness.  It is found only...

Reason for the Season

As Christmas approaches I want to challenge you to consider how you will give. It is not really a question of what you will give but how??? That you will be giving gifts this year is almost a forgone conclusion but the motivation and attitude behind the gift is a real key to whether or not you enjoy the season. When the Heavenly Father gave us His Son it was with a heart of love and justice. The gift took on huge proportions because of our great need for it. The gift of Jesus is the only thing...

Update from Peru

The Nov 6-16 Peru trip is progressing nicely and God is working. As I write this report (Wednesday Night Nov 11), the team has just passed the half-way mark in their ministry time .  So far, the team has seen 2 accept Christ and 3 baptized.  These are the first people being baptized on this side of the valley that we know of!!  Praise God!!   Jerry Wiles, Master Wiles of Tri-Star Karate,  gave a demonstration and testimony at the high school.  Many heard the gospel there.  Jerry was suffering...
