What is the meaning of baptism?

Jesus never asked His disciples to remember His birth but He did instruct them to remember His death and resurrection. He gave the church two visible symbols that reflect His death and resurrection: Baptism and The Lord's Supper.

Who should be baptized and when?

When a person realizes the truth of the gospel and makes the choice to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior, it is time to make the public expression of faith by being baptized. If a young child or student makes this decision, we ask that they meet with the staff person in their area to discuss the meaning of their choice and their baptism.

Why be baptized by immersion?

"Baptizo" means "to immerse or dip under water" (i.e., the dyeing of a garment or the drawing of water by dipping a vessel into another).

What about very young children? When are they old enough?

Parents often have a desire to publicly thank God for the gift of their child and commit themselves before the church family to raise their child under the instruction of the Lord in a Christian home. No water is used during a Family Dedication Ceremony, nor is baptism implied.
